The Velaro high-speed train runs on the equivalent gasoline consumption of 0.33 liters per seat per 100 kilometers. In addition, it uses environmentally friendly, easily biodegradable fuels and sustainably generated, pollutanttested materials.

High efficiency

This makes Velaro not only one of the world’s fastest high-speed trains in operational use, but also the most eco-friendly. Based on its improved aerodynamics alone, the new Velaro trains use ten percent less energy than the first generation.
